Continuum refers to a set of elements between which the transition is continuous, suggesting the image of a train moving on the railway network. The movement creates an undulating pattern, tracing the outline of mountains on the horizon or the expression of a surge in motion. The object ends its course in the shape of a drop which gives us the impression of seeing a moving object frozen in time. The repetition of forms is reminiscent of chrono photography which breaks down movement into fixed images, the result of persisting retinal images. This is what happens when the eye catches the image of a passing train. This work draws on the idea that nothing is still, but that everything is changing rapidly, which is inspired by the experiences and writings of Lavoisier.
