Artist residency and individual exhibition at La Chambre Blanche Art gallery in Quebec City, from March 12th to April 22nd, 2012.
Certain artists like to disrupt our relationship with time and matter. It is definitely the case with Marc Dulude, who was in site-specific residency at La Chambre Blanche Art gallery until April 22nd, 2012. « My work is based on a desire to explore matter and its possibilities; chosen for their physical qualities, formal or symbolic, the materials that I use surprise, amuse, and serve as a reference point », says the artist who seeks to rethink nature and to renew our perception of it with his art. During his residency in La Chambre Blanche, Marc Dulude wished to pursue a creative work which originated from the idea of phenomena, its study and interpretation. To do so, the artist presented some phenomena in the gallery space transformed into a true in vivo laboratory. From the imperceptible movement of the eye to the one that is too slow to notice an immediate progress, these various staged phenomena became the devices of organic sculptures in relation to the notion of time and its variations. Beyond the physical phenomenon, Marc Dulude’s works represent and call for a true plastic, aesthetic, and poetic research of the unpredictable.
