While it is true that the installation titled Œuvres sur toile (Works on canvas) reminds us of the aesthetics of certain sci-fi film sets of the 1960s, through its curved plastic components and its play of light, these same objects also contain microcosms to be discovered. Staging both static elements and physical phenomena using various surfaces, the artist compels us to reflect on space and time. In Œuvres sur toile, the representation space not only challenges the spectator in its materiality, but it also pushes him to project himself into the scenes that constitute it, into these miniature theaters where water comes alive under lights that reveal all the materiality of the objects used and the textures suggested by the artist. This work pushes the viewers to use their imagination and to inhabit the surfaces, to feed them with personal content and to engage with them. The artist encourages us to pay particular attention to the surfaces that constitute our relationship to the world, both two and three-dimensional. In doing so, he not only invites the spectators to surround his work, but he also invites them to besiege the world.
