Oiseau en efflorescence [Bird in efflorescence]

Materials :
Wood, porcelain, salt
Dimensions :
40 (h) x 20 (l) x 20(d)
Medium :
Sculpture

Context :
Work exhibited at SAS Gallery in Montreal in 2011 and at Joyce Yahouda Gallery in Montreal in 2016 as part of the exhibition titled Tenir les murs.

This new poetic proposal by Dulude addresses the idea of time and the requalification of matter. Over several weeks, visitors will be able to see a physical phenomenon called efflorescence. By osmosis, the carved wooden bird and its porcelain container will be frosted with a fragile and crumbly crust of salt. This piece is inspired by a winter scene which makes a nod to the perpetual shaping of the Nordic landscape.
