Passage

Materials :
Painted aluminum
Dimensions :
Variable
Medium :
Sculpture

Context :
Outdoor public artwork set up at the La Dauversière School in Montreal.

The artwork titled Passage displays a snowy owl on a wall which leaves a trace of its passage when it lands. It is a diptych, composed of a sculpture and a high relief which is intended as a poetic proposal on the notions of identity, cultural diversity, and knowledge sharing. Passers-by will be able to admire a drawing in high relief, made up of a superimposition of primary colors that is reminiscent of the rainbow and the flags of nations, and which metaphorically illustrates cultural diversity. The notions of cycles and passages are also represented by the rainbow which announces a transition between the school’s two phases.
